We'd love to welcome you to our free trial classes on Fridays or Sundays
We know your child is a unique individual, finding their place in the world. No matter whether your young dancer is full of enthusiasm or still a little unsure, they will be made to feel very welcome. Through positive engagement, adventurous dance stories and the traditions of ballet, they will soon be learning their first steps and positions, gaining strength, co-ordination and confidence as they go.
New Dancers (ages 2.5-6)

Whether your child has been dancing for some time or is a new starter, they'll quickly find their place at the heart of our school. Using positive, affirming teaching methods, our teachers show your child how to develop their skills, technique and creativity. As your child grows, so do the possibilities for combining movements and exploring more complex gestures - all while having a lot of fun!
Levels 1 & 2 (ages 6-10)

We welcome starters at all ages, and have had dancers start in their teens and go on to professional dance careers. Your child may have been dancing for some time, and we explore more sophisticated ballet concepts, nurturing their passion for the discipline, and for performance. Pointe work is possible in the higher levels, and the barre plays a greater role, as do improvisation, lifts, and choreography, all under the experienced eye of our most senior staff.
The Senior School (ages 10-18)

What We Offer at Milton Keynes School of Ballet
3 Facts To Help You Choose Your Ballet School
Milton Keynes School of Ballet has a live musician playing in every class.
Why does that matter? Because a teacher who is hunting through iTunes or their CD collection for the next track (and then the right bit of that track, etc) is not focused on your child. With a live pianist, music and dance flow seamlessly together, the teacher's expert attention is where it should be, and your child learns to love the classical canon too.
At Milton Keynes School of Ballet we are are specialists in our field
You could certainly send your child to learn ballet from someone who's learned a few basic moves in everything from Bollywood to Hip-Hop to Classical Ballet, and claims to be an 'expert'. Or your child could learn from a teacher who has taken many young people from their first steps through to an international ballet career, and teaches from a position of real experience.
The importance of experience doesn't end there. A ballet dancer is not only an artist, but an athlete. Your child's health and physical development are too important to be handed over to non-professionals. Trust someone who understands the value of good form, not just now, but in the years and decades to come.
Our qualifications count
At hobbyist dance schools, you'll find out too late that their 'qualifications' and exams are worth nothing in the real world. The MK School of Ballet is a registered Arts Awards Centre, with qualifications on the Regulated Qualification Framework - they count towards college and university applications. It's like the Duke of Edinburgh Awards for the arts. We want your child to thrive, whatever path they decide to take, and our qualifications can help them do that.
